A favourite of the Queen and the Royal Family it was recently utilised by the Middletons during William and Catherine’s wedding, we could see why as were made very welcome by all the staff and were even fed their sumptious New Year menu…!

Everyone happily burned off the calories dancing to our jazz quartet until midnight and beyond..

I cannot speak highly enough of the fantistic Ian Beestin on drums, Geoff Pearson on double bass and Neil Hunter or Bob Hudson on piano – these guys are solid as a rock and swing like mad as you can see!

There are more dates lined up including playing for the Christmas lights switch on in Beeston on the 26th November, so we are about to dig out all those Xmas charts again.  Make sure you get in touch and book us so you can boogy on down in style this festive season – jazz is the perfect antidote to economic strife as was proved in the 20s and 30s!

We also were busy promoting Jeanie’s Christmas Song which had plenty of airplay thankfully along with some great gigs at prestigious venues like the Spice of Life in Soho and the National Theatre on London’s South Bank.  You can read about it all and watch videos of the shows here.

Last Friday we had a lovely outing to play at a function in Lichfield, Staffordshire for the Rotary Club’s Ladies Night; it was in the stunning George Hotel and was a real knees up – a guest just sent these pictures of us (Jeanie Barton voice and percussion, Paul Weinreb on piano and Selwyn Charles on double bass) as you can see there was plenty of dancing!

We then carried our kit through to the next room – a big event hall which was laid out beautifully by the organiser Planet Pursuits Event Management who had even brought in a classic biplane earlier that morning to complete the look.  I think you can see we had some fun and so did the RAF, we were particularly chuffed (excuse the pun) by the compliments paid to us by many of the American guests as we were after all playing their music…

The weather is glorious and it is wedding season again so we’ve also played at some beautiful occasions recently and met some lovely people.  These shots were taken of me (Jeanie) and Paul playing in the stunning 17th Century Hintlesham Hall Hotel.

Another client was lucky with the weather for their staff BBQ in Tunbridge Wells where we played as a quartet in the garden.   They emailed to say “We really enjoyed the music, thank you very much for a superb evening!”

Dates in the diary now include another RAF function and a do for “Rock School“…

Chris noticed there was a photography studio set up next to the entrance doing free portraits so we got our pic taken for a laugh – Lakis kept saying, “How does my hair look – does it look ok?!”  I told him he looked beautiful.
