Where have We Played Before?

Jazz and Cocktails are professional jazz musicians with a wealth of experience.  They have recently worked with Georgie Fame, performed for HRH Prince Edward, Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber, the Korean Royal family and Samuel L Jackson, Shirley Bassey and Pierce Brosnan among other VIPs.

As well as playing regularly to sustained acclaim at jazz festivals and clubs across the UK including The 606 in Chelsea, Ronnie Scott’s and The Spice of Life in Soho, they enjoy performing at numerous wedding receptions, private parties and corporate events at venues as diverse as The Army and Navy Club in Pall Mall, The Goring Hotel, The National Theatre, The St Pancras Grand Hotel, outdoor marquees and the MS Excellence for a cruise on the Seine in Paris.

Being repeat performers at Army and RAF events they are well versed in filling dance floors and entertaining audiences as well as providing unobtrusive, atmospheric background music.

Our Music Genre

Jazz and Cocktails’ repertoire evokes the classic glamour of yesteryear. We perform mainly swing and Latin jazz hits from the 1920s – 1960s covering Rat Pack classics, Bossa nova, swing and bebop.  We can include pop songs but we perform them with the same retro twist!  Our acclaimed female singer will always learn special requests to personalise your event.  If your function has a James Bond theme, we include all of the films’ most popular songs.

Expect to hear retro favourites made famous by Doris Day, Dean Martin, Michael Buble, Frank Sinatra, Peggy Lee, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Sarah Vaughan, Peggy Lee, Anita O’Day, Jon Hendricks, Annie Ross, Charlie Parker, Edmundo Ross, Mel Torme, Vera Lynn, Al Jarreau, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Ray Charles, Astrud Gilberto, Amy Winehouse and many more!

What will the band look like?

We can tailor our look to suit your event – for weddings and corporate occasions we dress formally in cocktail attire but for less formal events we can dress more casually if you prefer – just specify what your requirements are and we will meet your needs.

How will the show run?

Live sets are flexible and can be performed as 2 x 45 minute sets, 3 x 40 minute sets or 2 x 60 minutes; we also play complimentary music through the PA via mp3 or CD before and between sets – you may make special requests or use your own laptop/music player should you wish.  We are self contained so you don’t need to provide any quipment for us – we have our own PA, backline, instruments and lighting rig.

Jazz and Cocktails perform as a duo, trio, quartet, quintet or larger ensemble.  A duo or trio (vocals with piano or guitar plus double bass) lends its self to background music but the inclusion of a drum kit as well as horns will create a bigger sound, giving the show oomph and encouraging dancing!

We accommodate whatever space is available as long as there is an area of level ground with a minimum of 2 power sockets available in easy reach.  Shelter for electrical equipment will also be necessary for outdoor events. We are very adaptable to a range of room types and always adjust volume levels to suit your requirements.

Our equipment is of the highest standard and we are fully insured by the Music Union.
